If only Hudson knew how to say cheese...

Ready to feed the Horses
Hudson fed the cows and horses with Granddaddy today. He hopped up on the tractor and said, "Let's go get them some hay Granddaddy. "

Is this blog worthy?
There's just something so comforting about a long car ride with your blankie on your head. :)

Copilot checked out
After a long day of flights where Hudson was a real trooper, he decided there were too many streetlights and red lights on the way to Aunt Barb's house. He put his "blankie" over his head and rode the entire device that way, falling asleep about 30 min prior to getting to her house. (easy transition to bed though:) )
My sweetest boy
Kirk just landed in Philly after three flights since this morning, and this is Hudson. He was a trooper but is pooped out.

Thank you, Papa!
Hudson had a great time but did request Buela next time. :)
It was so great to see him, and we had a cute conversation in the car on the way home:
Me: Daddy's going to go see cows and horses at the rodeo.
H: And sheep?
Me: Yes, there will probably be some sheep.
H: And I think some turtles and ducks.
Me: (not a word - just a mental note to remember stuff like this)

Ho Ho Ho!
Hudson visited Cowboy Kringle today!
He told Santa that he was a good boy and won't cry. He wasn't too sure
about looking him in the eye, but had no qualms about sitting on his lap
and telling him what he wanted for Christmas. He "needed" Santa to bring a
race car and a black train.

A Bus! A Bus!
For the last two weeks, Hudson has asked me about going for a ride in a bus every time we've seen one. Living in the central part of the city, between two elementary schools and UT, and walking distance from a primary street for CapMetro, you can't imagine how many buses we see in a typical day.
Well today after nap, we went to the corner bus stop and took the bus to the Children's Museum downtown. It had to be the biggest thrill that a dollar ever could buy.
Enjoying the ride
Hudson finally got to ride a bus today to the Museum and he couldn't have been happier. The college kids chuckled as he made up a song about riding the bus. His face stayed pressed to the glass the whole way there. He waved to anyone sitting at each bus stop where we stopped along the way.
Mike Mulligan & His Steamshovel
Hudson turned to me at the Children's Museum and said "I'm like Mike Mulligan and I have a lot of work to do" as he sat down on their excavator and began digging in their ball pit.

Cousins
Hudson with the world's best girl cousins, Claire and Caroline! They are so sweet to him. We love coming to Branson!!
Silver Dollar City
We rode the train at the amusement park today, and Hudson was totally starstruck meeting the conductor!

The Kiss
Here's a picture to brighten your day. Anyone who knows Hudson knows there's only one way to give a kiss... On the lips (be it a person or animal)! At the Seabrook "regatta," we were trying to get buddies Hudson and John to hug for a photo. Well Hudson decided to kick it up a notch and kiss John. Let's just say that John wasn't a willing participant! But he got so tickled that he didn't know what to do, causing Hudson to "go for it" even more! This picture captures the priceless moment, and I just love it. :)

Waking up early
I can't imagine why Hudson woke up early from his nap today. Do you think one of his buddies woke him up? When I cleaned out, I also found 14 cars under his blanket. You can never call Hudson a minimalist. :)
Seabrook
Or you can just go view them on Flickr:

Sharing
There's never any concerns about sharing when you each have your own bulldozer.
The construction at Seabrook has been a huge hit and requires many trips to see the diggers, bulldozers, skid loaders, dump trucks and fork lifts.

Sporting a look
Having so much fun at the Brown family pool! Hudson wore these around most of the afternoon for no apparent reason (even inside).

Dee Dee's Visit
Dee Dee clearly wasn't up on the finer points of "I'm going to get you," so when he yelled it to her, she ran and hid.
Hudson was so confused, as everyone knows that Hudson's version of "I'm going to get you" means for you to chase him.
We laughed for quite awhile over that one!

1st day of School 2011
Hudson was excited to put on his backpack and head to school today. Without any prompting he actually had started asking about school and his classmates from last year just two weeks ago. He goes 3x per week this year. What a big boy. :)
I so happy
I said to Hudson, that didn't make Mommy very happy that you climbed out of your crib. And he answered. Mommy, I sooo happy.
If he wasn't so cute, I don't know what I'd do with that little rascal!

Batter up
On a recent trip to Dick's sporting goods, Hudson found the wall of batting helmets. He proceeded to wear it around the store.
Of course about 10 seconds after this picture, he picked up a bat and nearly took out the end cap display. :)

Biiiig digger
It was an exciting night - the digger down the street was the biggest we have seen. Hudson was pretty fast too! Mommy had to run to catch up!!!

A little shopping
We went to Dick's 5 & Dime so Hudson could do a little shopping. Can you say overstimulation? But fun!
One last ride
On our way to the airport, we had to take one last ride at The Track. So, so fun! Thanks, Aunt Amy, Uncle Craig and family for the best Branson trip ever!!!

Tumble track
Caroline and Hudson bounced around on the Tumble Track where she takes gymnastics. His practice at the bounce house paid off, but he really studied her when she did flips. You could tell he was contemplating it, but just couldn't quite figure it out.
Put me in Coach!
Hudson had a great time watching Uncle Craig's basketball game. Continuously yelled "Go Uncle Craig!" usually followed by "Call a timeout!" (so he could attempt to run out on the court. )

Fun at The Track
Ohmygosh, Hudson LOVES go-karts! Let's just say he wasn't thrilled to finish his ride. But he had such a great time with his cousins and Aunt Amy and Uncle Craig!!
Visiting cousins in Branson
Caroline, Hudson and Claire gating ready to watch Uncle Craig's band, Mile Zero, play outside at the winery.
Soundcheck for Uncle Craig
Hudson made sure the "stage" and the microphone were ready for Uncle Craig to play.

Sleepy time
Hudson missed his nap today for maybe the second time in his life while we were flying to Branson. Then we got to go hear my brother play tonight, and Hudson was pretty tired. But luckily he had some nice cushy rocks to rest on while listening to the music!

Go Longhorns!
Truman and Hudson had fun this morning celebrating the Longhorns we love so much! Scott, Truman's a convert! :)

Too many
Heading to dinner (yes, that's a little pre-dinner powdered sugar doughnut on his face - what's your point?). Hudson grabs like 9 cars to take. Helpful Truman tells him that's too many. Hudson replies pointedly, I want to take too many! (4 cars went.)
Matching doughnuts
We are so happy to have cousin Truman here visiting! We celebrated this morning by having some of Truman's things - doughnuts!! (Hudson got the same kind as Truman, of course!)

Where's papa?
Not sure Papa could read any stories since Hudson decided storytime required two hats.

Ready for 'cation
Dreaming of diggers
So this morning when he woke up I said, Hudson, did you dream about diggers?
He thought for a minute before saying...
Yes... AND GIRLS!
I nearly died, but loved it, because when he was a baby, I used to always ask if he dreamed of girl babies. Clearly, somewhere in the back of his brain, he remembered it.
A reindeer!?!
We may have a little confusion from the Santa book Hudson continues to enjoy. When he sees a mounted deer head, he says, "Look a reindeer!" At least we have a few months to clear things up prior to Christmas season.

YeeHaw!!
YeeHaw!!
Hudson is practicing before the rodeo.
He had a great time at the 87th annual Belton TX Rodeo & 4th of July Celebration.
Rodeo!
Rodeo!
We went to the rodeo tonight and had a great time! Hudson loved the cowgirls, the sheep, the pretzel, the horses and the music... Not necessarily in that order!
