The Cat in the Hat was waiting for us when I picked up Hudson from camp today. Camp has a Dr. Seuss theme this week.

Hoss
When Hudson was littler, he would rub it in to his mamma how old she was by quickly clearing a shelf of toys before she even knew what hit her. Then the next few minutes would be spent with me frantically trying to put them back while Hudson used his cat-like reflexes and agility to take them down faster than I could get them back up.
Imagine my surprise when Hudson's excitement overtook him and we "relived the old days" by doing the same routine with these stuffed dogs named Hoss! The shop patrons got a big kick out of it, so I did what any Mother of the Year candidate would do - I took out my camera! Enjoy!!

The Faster, The Better
Hudson loves going on the waterslide, and the faster we went, the more he'd
laugh on the way down.
As soon as he caught a breath after splashing down into the pool at the
bottom, he would come up yelling, "I wanna go again!"

Hook 'em Horns!
We are celebrating the weekend at Lost Pines. Within 15 minutes of arrival, Hudson had jumped in a bounce house, ridden a longhorn and gone down the water slide. We love this place!!

Feet
In case we needed one more example of how Hudson marches to the beat of his own drum, check out his feet. To my knowledge, he has never seen anyone else wear two different shoes. At least they are both KEENs!

Happy Mother's Day!
I was so lucky that Hudson shared my breakfast in bed and brought me a Superman card. (Luckily he knows I love super heroes!)
He also brought me a treasured gift. I must admit I had a slight HINT about what it might be, from this conversation earlier this week:
Me: What did you do at school today? (not expecting any actual information, as usual)
H (giving me details for the first time ever): Made you a necklace
Me: Oh how nice! Is it a surprise for Mothers Day?
H: Yes, it's for Monsters Day.
Me: Then Shhh... let's keep it a secret!
H: OK, it's a heart.
I love it so much, and so does Hudson. He wants to wear it, so he decided we could share it. (Who am I as a mother not to encourage sharing?!)

My Super Room
Hudson now has his own Super big boy room. DeeDee and Mommy did a great job on his super hero painting. And now Hudson has bunk beds with Spider-man and Batman sheets for when a friend stays over.
