Post parade
Fun St. Patrick's Day evening parade. Hudson cleaned up from all the dune buggies and floats. Beads, beads, beads, headband, a football and of course, a sword.
Beignets
It's not a trip to New Orleans without a stop at Cafe du Monde for beignets. As you can see by the smile and the shirt& shorts covered in powdered sugar, they were a hit.

A Stop at the Border
Spring break roadtrip to New Orleans. Neat rest stop on the Louisiana border where you can walk on a boardwalk over the bayou. Saw 2 alligators, 2 snakes, lots of turtles and an egret catching fish.

Hudson's first sleepover
Hudson slept over at his buddy Matthew's house last night. Matthew's mom said they ate pizza, watched a movie and are going to donuts this morning. Sounds dreamy! Aren't they cute? (Mommy and Daddy took the opportunity for date night downtown!)

Graduated Nitro 1 Swimming
Big day today as Hudson passed the test for his Nitro 1 swimming lessons. Now he moves on to Nitro 2 where he'll learn Breaststroke and Butterfly while improving his Backstroke and Freestyle.
Hudson got really motivated to get back into lessons when he learned that one of his buddies had gotten on the Intro to Nitro Swim team. Now he's eager to be able to try out for the team too.
Here's what Nitro 2 looks like:

Watch D.O.G.S.
Today was the start of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) program at Hudson's school and I was the first Dad to volunteer.
The goal of the program is to have a male presence at the school for the entire day helping to represent the importance of education and to help minimize bullying.
Besides patrolling the halls, talking with kids in the cafeteria and helping with dropoff & pickup, I got to attend Hudson's kindergarten class, help with 2 first grade classes, a fourth grade class, an art class and even spent some 1-on-1 time with a special ed boy helping him with fractions and math expressions. I have an even deeper appreciation of our teachers and really like Hudson's school. Fun day, and Hudson was so excited and proud to have me there all day.

Adventure boy climbs again!
Why play in the play structure when you can climb on top?
This is the sight I saw when I came outside at Fuddruckers to tell Hudson that it was time to go soon. He wanted to climb up to the "point," but I said no.
He told me that he could see "the stars and stuff" much better from up there. He actually sat up there watching the stars appear for quite some time.
